Breaking and Entering

Posted by Jack

There is a little convenience store directly behind our house. Abdul, the owner and operator of the business has become a friend of mine over this past year.

I was deeply saddened today when I stopped by 99 Cents Plus to find out that Abdul was robbed over the weekend.

On Saturday night, after closing, somebody climbed onto the roof, smashed out a skylight, and dropped into the store. The perpetrators stole a fair amount of merchandise and left some damages. Admittedly, things could have been worse. But I am not particularly happy about this sort of behavior in my community! And neither is Abdul. We chatted for a few minutes, and I told him about some of our own break-in experiences.

I asked Abdul if he would be able to recover any of the losses, if he has insurance to help him. He looked incredulous. He said, "Yes, I have insurance, of course. But I am just shocked someone would do this."

Let's take some action and show Abdul we're glad he's in our community. If you are reading this, and you are in the Springfield area, I encourage you to stop by 99 Cents Plus sometime soon. It is my pleasure to do business with such a great guy!

99 Cents Plus Store, located at 140 W Pleasant Street, is your everyday bargain store. The store carries groceries, general merchandise, and the service is the best I have seen in our area. Open 7 days a week, 9am-9pm.
