Pictures Worth a Thousand Words

Posted by Jack

On September 19th, we took our first official action on the newly acquired lot on Mulberry Street: we celebrated! Around 40 or so friends (but who's counting?) came together for an informal time of eating, chattering, and dreaming. Assorted Springfield natives, relatives from out of town, and co-conspirators from area churches rounded out the guest list.

We only snapped a few candid pictures, but a few pics captured my favorite aspect of the day: for the first time since acquiring this house in 2008, I saw children playing on the lawn!

Here are some pictures taken on that fateful day, which signified a certain new beginning on our street.

Also, friend and budding photographer Daniel Koranek was kind enough to take these photographs as the gathering was drawing to a close. It may not look like much now, but if you squint hard enough, you just might be able to make out the beginnings of something beautiful.

Behold, the land!
